Commercial & Retail Mechanic

Under general direction from the Store or Service Managers, the Mechanic maintains and repairs vehicles with the use of proper tools and equipment. May also be known as Mechanic - Commercial, Mechanic - Retail, and Mechanic Commercial & Retail.

Objectives/Functions:

• Embrace Pomp's Tire Professional's Core Values
• Perform oil changes, tire alignments, brake and shock replacement, and other mechanical services
• Maintain and replace tires on vehicles
• Maintain tools and equipment
• Troubleshoot customer needs and inspect vehicles for additional problems
• Perform general housekeeping in work area
• Other duties as assigned by manager

• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
• Primarily working indoors with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold
• Frequent exposure to various toxic and/or caustic chemicals
• Noise level in the work environment can be loud; safety equipment is provided, as needed

• Regularly lift, push, or move 50 pounds; occasionally lift, push, or move 100+ pounds
• Constant standing required with frequent twisting, bending, stooping, crouching, and crawling
• Must be able to visually inspect tires and vehicles in order to assess problems and make repairs
• Frequent use of fingers and hands to feel; frequent reaching above shoulders with hands and arms

• Valid driver's license desired
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers
• Ability to read and verify work order information
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• ASE certification desired
• TIA certifications desired or willing to obtain
