The Global Data Office

Led by Visa's Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This position will be a key member of the Global Data team responsible for the managing Data Partnership's across Global Data Office Portfolio of Products and Solutions.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data partnership strategy aligned with GDO and Visa's business goals and objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential data partners, including data providers, technology companies, and industry organizations aligned with Visa's Product Partners
  • Establish data requirements: Define comprehensive and precise data requirements, while working in conjunction with cross-functional product, data science, and technology teams.
  • Establish and scale Quick, effective and consistent tools and methodology for testing efficacy of new data sets.
  • Define Clear, streamlined onboarding, contracting, governance [usage, legal, compliance] processes for third party data assets
  • Work closely with internal teams, including data science, product development, and marketing, to leverage data partnerships for business insights and innovation.
  • Ideate, prototype, and collaborate with Data Product teams to evaluate and build data acquisition business case.
  • Partner with technology teams to manage the setup, exchange, ingestion, processing for Data Assets along with security, access controls on Visa's on-prem and cloud environments to provide best-in-class performance, availability, and scalability of third-party data assets
  • Partner with Data Policy, Legal and Compliance Teams to ensure strong and appropriate data management and governance tools in place to ensure compliance with 3rd party data rights management.
  • Define and monitor key success metrics for data partnerships including commercial revenue and ROI.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies competitive landscape, market, and client needs, to shape the data acquisition roadmap and align strategic goals.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote data partnership initiatives.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing data partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of machine learning or data processing algorithms for Data Products.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and ethical data usage practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong experience in data science, deep learning models, cloud computing, and experience with big data and broader AI/ML tools, platforms, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience with data analytics tools and technologies is a plus.
  • Data Products experience in the card industry or financial service company using for fraud, credit risk, payments is a plus.
  • Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams and matrix organizations.
  • Experience partnering with technologists using Agile or other expedited design and development methodologies. Working knowledge of Agile tools such as Confluence Wiki, Tableau, and JIRA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in financial services and payments desired but not required.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 194,600.00 to 282,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
