Position title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Ophthalmology Salary range:
The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5/Scale 3. The salary range for this position is $102,600 - $309,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Salary and rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The candidate will join a dynamic community of vision scientists whose work spans understanding the basic science underlying visual processing, visual disorders and converting laboratory discoveries into treatments. The Jules Stein Eye Institute contains an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative group of independent investigators, with the shared goal of understanding eye biology and visual processing. We are seeking individuals tackling current problems in visual processing, vision loss and/or vision restoration using molecular, cellular, electrophysiological, and/or behavioral approaches. We are interested in candidates pursing basic and/or translational research. Candidates will be expected to lead independent and federally-funded research programs. Furthermore, candidates should have demonstrated potential for outstanding academic contributions.
