The Associate, Practice provides entry-level support for the Agriculture, and Food Security practice (AFS) Practice Management Team (PMT) on operations, administrative tasks, contracts administration, and data input. In this capacity, the associate will be assigned routine and defined operations tasks to assist internal administrative functions and activities related to PMT work plan implementation as needed including project support, PMT management, industry outreach, and business development. They will be expected to learn and work within Chemonics systems to facilitate operations and technical activities for the PMTs. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

This role requires on-site work in our Washington, DC office location as part of our hybrid, flexible work structure.

Responsibilities:



  • Responds appropriately and quickly to requests for support on behalf of the PMT, in accordance with guidance from supervisors.
  • Maintains established trackers and databases within Chemonics management systems for financial expenditures, consultant time, forward market opportunities, partners and experts, required reporting deadlines, and others, as needed
  • Collates documentation such as written reports, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel trackers
  • Supports administration and reporting for PMT-managed contracts and projects, including several indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) mechanisms
  • Processes invoices for payment following approval from supervisors and compile appropriate backup documentation
  • Coordinates with the Chemonics IT and system management teams to troubleshoot central database, Microsoft, or payment system challenges
  • Organizes, document, and disseminate outcomes of PMT meetings
  • Prepares correspondence for immediate supervisor review and signature and supports routine posting to internal announcement forums
  • Organizes and maintains files and oversees maintenance of filing systems.
  • Supports proposal development as appropriate and needed, such as compiling qualifications and resources for past performance, corporate capabilities, and recruitment
  • Conducts remote, hybrid, and in-person event coordination, including IT, catering, and procurement logistics
  • Coordinates with office services and IT support on facility, equipment, and supply needs
  • Supports PMT and project team participation in conferences, workshops, or other events
  • Performs other duties as required


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with data entry, filing, cataloguing, retrieving, and preserving records preferred
  • Excellent French language skills strongly preferred
  • Education, knowledge, or work experience in topics related to resilience, agriculture, or food security is desirable
  • Communicates clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated experience multitasking with attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience following standard practices and procedures, receiving general instruction and supervision, and contributing to projects and initiatives, whether in an academic or professional setting
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Works independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving and initiative to learn new skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity

The Hourly Pay Range for this position is: $21.96 - $27.46.

An employee's pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.

Overtime exemption status may change due to state regulatory requirements.
