ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide Explosive Safety management support to RTC Directorates associated with all facets of RTC Explosive Safety Program.

* Provides technical expertise in explosives, missiles, ammunition, and weapon testing safety requirements with responsibility for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of the explosive's safety program for all activities within RTC and private contractors who perform explosives, missiles, ammunition and weapons testing functions within RTC.

* Work as a team member responsible for the compliance to the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC) safety program.
* Educate and provide corrective actions for deficiencies identified during inspections and assessments.
* Develop, implement, and maintain documents, policies, procedures such as Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Procedures (WP), including Test Safety Risk Assessments (TSRA) for safety programs; standardize reports, programs, and processes at the facility and division level.
* Chair division safety meetings, write meeting minutes, and ensure action items are completed following meetings.
* Responsibilities include Hazard Assessment Working Group (HAWG) meeting coordination, TSRA coordination, safety training, training documentation distribution, SOP review and tracking, and ensuring all safety related documents are present during testing and up to date.
* Conduct regular facility inspections, accident investigations, and maintain and face to face daily presence around the division Campus to help ensure the implementation of safe practices and SOP compliance.
* Assist test engineers with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of the explosive safety program for all activities within the division.
* Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

* HS Diploma/GED.
* Should have 8 years' experience in explosive safety.

Preferred Education and Experience:

* Prior experience as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
* Certified as an Occupational Safety and Health Standards professional.
* Proficient user of Microsoft's Office 365 suite of software and applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft's SharePoint.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

There is none, but the employee may be a coach and mentor for other employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Professional office in which typical office equipment and information technology is used.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Necessary to perform the essential functions: able to see, hear, and speak; lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; sit for extended time; and, use a personal computer and typical peripheral devices.

TRAVEL:

None.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
