The successful Transportation Grant Specialist will join our dedicated client. We are seeking a professional, innovative, and detailed individual. You will primarily be involved in the financial components of grant agreements and modifications. This position will provide support for the administration of federal and state grant awards.

As a Transportation Grant Specialist, your day-to-day activities will include:



  • Work with various stakeholders to provide technical review of applications, pay requests, and change requests in the client's grant management system
  • Prepares grant contracts and associated financial components, including establishing funding using Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Prepares and manages the project funding award
  • Performs high-level reviews of all grant agreements and modified grants prior to final execution
  • Ensure that each grant is accurately and sufficiently funded at the beginning of the agreement
  • Analyzes, prepares and implements project closeouts
  • Compile, analyze, forecast, and report on federal and state grant expenditures
  • Provide data system consolidation and gap analysis between client systems
  • Perform budget management processes including preparation and presentation of compiled performance data
  • Perform data management tasks using client's software.
  • Research and interpret guidance regarding state and federal fiscal and financial regulations
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of project controls-related items
  • Incorporate program procedures and processes within client standards and systems
  • Adhere to and oversee internal Business Management System procedures, ensuring all projects are compliant
  • Provide internal and external progress reports as required, as well as other ad-hoc requests



We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:



  • An understanding of working with clients and engaging with appropriate stakeholders


  • A degree or equivalent in a relatable major preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 5+ years of finance experience, or a degree in finance, accounting or equivalent
  • Experience building relationships and ensuring effective communication with all parties
  • Pro-active, problem-solving mentality
  • Ability to improve workplace productivity, efficiency, and performance
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail is a requirement
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office products
  • SAP experience a plus
