Drexel Co-op Program - Civil Engineering

Mott MacDonald is seeking civil or environmental engineering students in growing Philadelphia office. The position is oriented toward cooperative education students for sophomore and above. Primary responsibilities include supporting the design of water/wastewater/green stormwater infrastructure projects. Candidate should be motivated and able to execute project tasks and work collaboratively with other project staff for on-budget/on- schedule project execution. Typical duties include calculations, preliminary base plan and design layout tasks, equipment/regulation research, AutoCAD and other engineering support services. The successful candidate must have good communication skills, a strong work ethic, good writing and organizational skills. The candidate may occasionally report to an active construction site or on-site project location when the current workload requires. In addition to supporting the design tasks, the candidate may also participate in construction management activities which may include inspections of active projects, coordination of submittals and RFIs with the project manager, contractor, and client. This position is a Hybrid position where the student will be expected to come into the office 10 days per month.

To be considered for this co-op position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Enviornmental Engineering or a similar field
• Must be eligible to participate in the Drexel Co-op Program
• A genuine interest in engineering design related to water or wastewater
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Organized and a self-starter
• Effective in both verbal and written communication

Salary Range: $17.00 - $33.00 per hour
