We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us!We are looking for a Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) intern to join our team and help us with various tasks related within the RCM team. You will work under the supervision of our directors and learn about the three pillars of RCM within our organization. These pillars are all financially-focused including financial qualifications, revenue capture, accounts receivable, collections and reimbursement. There will likely be opportunity for focused projects within these areas as well to enhance the internship experience. The identified candidate will spend time in the three specific RCM areas to gain an understanding of how each department functions, which will include a visit to a community for additional experience and context. Responsibilities
1.Revenue Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing revenue data, generating reports, and identifying trends or areas for improvement in revenue cycle performance.
2.Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: May include ensuring that billing practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and the Affordable Care Act.
3.Cross-departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as finance, clinical staff, and IT to streamline processes, resolve issues, and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
4.Training and Documentation: May assist in creating training materials, documenting procedures, and providing guidance to staff on revenue cycle processes and best practices.
5.Quality Assurance and Auditing: May participate in quality assurance activities, such as auditing billing records for accuracy and completeness, and identifying areas for improvement.
6.Follow-up on Outstanding Accounts: May help in following up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies, or other healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
7.Special Projects: Interns could be assigned special projects related to revenue cycle management, such as conducting benchmarking analysis, payer-specific margin reviews or implementing process improvements.
Requirements
*The ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues from various departments is important. May need to liaise with billing specialists, clinical staff, finance professionals, and IT personnel to ensure smooth revenue cycle operations.
*Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
*Possess strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
*Must be detail-oriented and capable of accurately entering data, reviewing documents, and identifying errors or discrepancies.
*Strong analytical skills to identify trends and review information alongside leaders.
*Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools helpful.
*Interns should adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. A strong sense of integrity and professionalism is essential when handling sensitive financial and healthcare information.

Compensation Pay Range:

$16.50 - $19.65

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $16.50 - $19.65. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
