Develop and lead a team in providing business decision support to senior management through strategic leadership and financial analysis. Translate strategic ideas into working plans, evolving the financial planning framework and addressing business issues. Partner with executive finance leadership to elevate the business to higher performance standards and enhance the company's processes and growth opportunities. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Partner with the executive management team to grow the overall business profitability by providing management with financial information that helps drive results and achievement of financial goals * Lead a team in analyzing key business performance metrics (e.g., volume, standard contribution margin and trade spend) and identifying performance improvement opportunities * Collaborate with key business partners to improve business results by recognizing key change levers * Assist with strategy development and translate it into specific action plans that achieve desired results * Develop and enhance financial planning processes and grow the finance team's analytical capabilities * Identify net price management and volume mix opportunities including financial support to ensure that proposals balance both market conditions and the financial needs of the business * Ensure that the strategic financial planning process for the division or company links to the long-term product development and operational strategies of the company * Perform extensive variance analysis vs. prior years, budgets, plans and forecasts; produce business analysis to identify problem areas and make suggestions for improvement; develop and analyze performance metrics * Support development activities by analyzing initiatives including new product introductions, network optimization, licensing, and geographic expansion * Prepare financial packages for senior management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including updates on business risks and opportunities * Serve as a business partner to the sales leaders to assist them in developing customer profitability analytics and evaluating product and marketing initiatives * Evaluate current market trends, perform competitor analyses, and evaluate potential business solutions * Support the bid management process (RFP's) on both new and existing business opportunities * Work with direct reports as a coach and partner to effectively manage their performance. Conduct formal performance conversations and hold direct reports accountable for results; work with them to cultivate their capabilities and utilize their strengths * Ensure talent management and succession-planning strategy is executed for the finance group * Perform management duties such as work delegation and review, performance management and development, technical direction and guidance, and mentoring and training * The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required * Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education) * 12 or more years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related discipline with 4+ years of management experience that includes leading managers and multiple departments * Demonstrated strength in financial planning and analysis in a company with complex business strategies * Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment * Excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of financial planning and analysis and general accounting * Excellent financial modeling skills * Strong knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management * Solid business judgment and decision making skills * Able to have an organization-wide perspective and understand how the business operates * Able to provide timely, high quality and comprehensive information that allows others to take action * Able to effectively analyze and interpret data * Able to identify performance drivers and set financial goals * Able to adapt to changing operational needs * Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism * Able to work collaboratively with others, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders * Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing * Able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy * Able to define, diagnose, and resolve complex problems * Able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines * Able to maintain confidentiality of information * Must be able to read, write and speak English * Able to travel 15-25% of the time An Equal Opportunity Employer |
