CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

This position is responsible for delivering consumables including chemical materials such as solvents and pigments, lab supplies and sundries from the shipping dock to an appropriate location within a laboratory or storage room. This position is also responsible for stocking and organizing lab supply rooms, keeping accurate inventory, and maintaining appropriate shipping paperwork.

Key Duties:



  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
  • Ensuring proper labeling of incoming items and internal re-containerization of products.
  • Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process
  • Recording the location and date of delivery
  • Keeping track of delivery paperwork and submitting them to the appropriate person
  • Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products
  • Operating various delivery equipment including fork-lifts
  • Monitoring stock levels in lab supply areas and re-stock as necessary
  • Communicating with buyer when inventory is low
  • Assisting in the re-containerizing requested material from bulk containers to secondary containers and properly labeling them
  • Complying with all safety, health, and environmental regulations

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • High School Graduate


Preferred:



  • Minimum of 2 years experience in similar role


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Team Player


Preferred:



  • Certification of forklift operation
