job purpose: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the facility and equipment maintenance including all utilities, process and packaging equipment, parts procurement, planning, automation, and department budget. The individual will possess a strong technical background and proven history to lead a talented group of supervisors, mechanics, ICT, engineers, planner, and parts procurement.

responsibilities:



  • Responsible for managing the performance and development of all maintenance department staff and hourly personnel including salary and hourly workers.
  • Responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and execution of all maintenance activities including preventative, predictive, breakdown and overhaul maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and repairing all production (Packaging) equipment.
  • Including Fillers, Blow molder, Sleever, Variopac, Palletizer , boilers , NH3 systems and air compressors .
  • Develop and optimize preventative maintenance program including task details, PM durations to ensure proactive execution and consistent plant operation.
  • Develop and utilize predictive maintenance programs to prevent failures on critical equipment. Condition based tools to include ultrasonic and vibration analysis, thermal imaging, tribology, etc.
  • Manage all aspects of the plant CMMS and the Asset Care Strategy for tracking, documentation, and planning.
  • Documentation of all schematics, diagram changes, and PLC programming documentation changes to keep plant records current.
  • Perform risk assessment of critical spare parts and manage inventory to appropriate levels.
  • Responsible for all regulatory packaging records and annual services: supporting overhauls and Audits.
  • Oversee the department budget utilizing data analysis to study part turns, obsolete parts, min/max values and propose new solutions to manage inventory.
  • Manage critical tasks and projects via weekly CI/strategic campaign meetings.
  • Source and work closely with vendors for projects, tasks, and emergency repairs
  • Must be able to use plant resources to troubleshoot issues: Factory Talk system, PowerBI, Krones HMI.
  • Suggest new strategies on how to track downtime and implement solutions to prevent and eliminate downtime.
  • Purchasing and Purchase Order control via NetSuite and D365: Understanding department general ledger accounts, categories and working close with the Plant Controller/Finance Department
  • Develop department SME's and create new roles within the department.
  • Request, review and maintain vendor contracts.
  • Work close with other departments on RCA/CA strategies requiring thorough documentation on the Quality Control platform.
  • Maintain critical regulatory instrument calibrations.
  • Work with engineering, OEM's and/or suppliers to perform equipment / asset value engineering or redesign to improve performance. Also provide maintenance expert POV to engineering when specifying new equipment design or placement.
  • Establish daily routines and standards for the team to follow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work with the training team to ensure that the maintenance staff are being trained in the mandatory regulatory, machine specific training. Overall need to be able to be a champion for the team to be able drive the team to the next levels of competence.
  • Participate in 90-day plans, DDS and department meetings.


  • Able to work with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair preferred
  • Responsible for maintaining and repairing all support equipment: boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, HVAC equipment, wastewater systems, etc.



skills/qualifications required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred - may substitute 10 years of work experience in a production setting involving consumer packaging goods, electronics, instrumentation, refrigeration, electrical, and general mechanical with at least five years of supervisory experience.
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in food or beverage manufacturing setting preferred
  • You must work in a safe and efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of all steam, electrical, refrigeration and mechanical equipment, including the use of welding, gas, electrical and heliarc equipment in the plant.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and be persistent until a solution is found.
  • Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire a forklift operator license.
  • Understand and be able to have a subservient leadership style and be able to place the team first.
  • Be able to establish and maintain a sense of urgency for the team.
  • Able to work nights as business needs.
  • Lead and oversee project execution while managing projects.
  • Allocate resources and establish a clear framework for task execution.

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming products in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
