The Role ...

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional looking to grow in their career, to join our Customer Development team. This role will take on a mix of direct selling responsibilities for the following key accounts (Marc Glassman Inc., Discount Drug Mart, Rural King, Assoc. Foods, L&R, Brookshire Grocery, NAFTA-Stater & Merchants Dist), while also managing essential duties such as training, account portal management and submissions, business planning, and supporting deduction processes.

You will support the management of brand/product strategies, trade spend, and pricing of your assigned accounts. You must maintain collaborative partnerships and manage broker relationships, while also providing customer support and administrative assistance for the West to East branch customers, as assigned by the VP, Customer Development.

This position will work remotely from their home base, located in Ohio.

Your Responsibilities ...

  • Achieve billed sales targets for accounts in the direct selling territory, while staying within the approved budget
  • Manage in-stocks and adjust forecasts as required to ensure product availability and targets are achieved
  • Conduct regular calls with all purchasing and inventory teams within the territory to review performance plan and provide recommendations for adjustments
  • Secure distribution, pricing, promotion, shelf positioning, and margin objectives by item/category within direct territory accounts, ensuring alignment with published brand strategies
  • Forecast customer events as required
  • Effectively manage the administrative responsibilities including price change forms, deductions, and selling and planning schedules
Requirements

You'll Need ...

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related discipline with 3+ years of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sales support and e-commerce experience (or 6+ years' experience in lieu of degree); pet care industry a plus
  • Sales and Presentation Skills: Experience with category management, fact-based selling techniques (point of sale and syndicated data analysis), and the ability to create, develop, and present this information compellingly from the ground up
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Business Travel: Willingness and ability to travel (25%)
