SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT I (VIDS/TV-DTS)

The role of the Subject Matter Expert (SME) I (VIDS/TV-DTS) is to provide day-to-day support with experience in Television Direct to Sailor and distribution systems projects which include the following, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, Repairs and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in SATCOM systems. This position reports directly to the TV-DTS Group in Chesapeake, VA.

Work Model: Onsite/In-Office

• Working with NAVSEA, NIWC Atlantic and other technical codes.
• Support the planning, installation, troubleshooting, testing, and SOVT support for all variants of TV-DTS antenna systems.
• Support for SEATEL transmit/receive shipboard antennas.
• Support SATCOM antenna systems for US Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and US Naval vessels.
• Participate and sometimes host various levels of design reviews.
• Participate in Engineering Change (ECP) Processes
• Participate manufacturing reviews.
• Interact with machine shops and other designers.
• Provide project time and detail estimates.
• Provide project detailed completion information (progress reports)
• Coordinates with manager, maintains ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Eight (8) YEARS Experience with SATCOM Equipment demonstrating industry and public service leadership in SATCOM systems.
• Must have experience working in or around industrial environments such as shipyards and Naval/Coast Guard bases and piers.
• Proof of Formal Training is required in ONE of the following TWO Systems:
  • Orbit TV-DTS SATCOM Antenna Training Certification
  • SEATEL TV-DTS SATCOM Antenna Training Certification
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
