As a Senior Capital Project Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering and Facilities department, such as managing projects, including theinstallation of mechanical/electrical equipment, manufacturing systems, and processes to meet the needs of Liberty Diversified International (LDI). This Individual will also collaborate on assigned projects, operational excellence, and other assignments as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to be a part of a high-growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.

This full-time position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and is located at LDI's corporate headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dedication to ensuring a safe work environment and environmental protection is a top priority. Ensure that all projects receive adequate hazard analysis prior to the project start and ensure that project safety remains paramount throughout the project.
  • Responsible for project management of installing capital equipment, documenting existing plants, specifying equipment and overseeing installation onsite.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization, including leading and participating in continuous improvement teams.
  • Use specialized software to create new models and drawings of buildings, equipment, plant layout, utilities, etc.
  • Research new manufacturing methods/equipment.
  • Organize and maintain existing engineering records.
  • Construct layout drawings and confirm designs with the manufacturing team.
  • Learn JD Edwards or equivalent (WOs, PMs, Inventory, BOMs, and spare parts) and assist plants.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager, as directed.
  • Travel to various LDI locations as needed (approximately 30% of the time).
  • Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, science, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' related experience such as mechanical design, capital planning, process engineering, and/or manufacturing.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise and ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
  • Exhibit awareness of operational safety requirements in a manufacturing environment and the ability to apply and follow procedures and requirements as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Proficient in performing designs using relevant CAD software
  • Must be highly hands-on, self-directed, and able to manage one's time accordingly to complete projects on time.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving skills

  • Master's degree

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $99,471 - $124,338 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
