Process Engineer Intern

The Process Engineering Intern will assist the Operation in multiple projects to develop process flows, plant layouts, Statistical analyses, troubleshooting problems, and implement improvements to reach Operations Targets on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The position reports to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and is onsite in Tallahassee, Florida. This position is a year-round internship.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following:

* Assist in evaluating and determining the best methods for material handling processes

* Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, and production standards

* Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting and computer applications.

* Assist in providing technical and operational support as needed.

* Study operations sequence, material flow, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities

* Recommend methods for improving the utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment

* Draft and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for operations tasks and functions

* Conduct observations and time studies as required to implement engineered standards

* Assists in project activities

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Junior or Senior Industrial/Mechanical Engineering Student or Equivalent Work experience

Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD, Mini Tab experience also preferred, quality tools (problem solve, PFMEA), line design

Job Criteria:

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Strong Microsoft Office Skills

* Sit/walk or stand for extended periods

* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

* Able to meet a minimum of 20 hours per week from 8 am to 6 pm
