The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with full-stack expertise. The position includes the development of new systems and maintenance and improvement of existing applications. Candidates should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade Web-based applications. You will work with other engineers to develop APIs and modernize the platform to build leading product experiences. A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals.

This position is based in our Chicago or Toronto office.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong development expertise and hands-on development of Credit Rating products with full stack expertise.

  • Strong knowledge of AWS with experience of working on applications deployed on AWS Infrastructure.

  • Develop end to end web application using Python as back end and framework such as AngularJS/Angular or VueJS or ReactJS for frontend.

  • Use an Agile approach to iteratively maintain and develop new functionality.

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

  • Promote code re-usability, object-oriented programming and best practices for CI/CD and application security.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or an engineering field; a graduate degree is strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of prior programming experience.

  • Experience in Python, SQL/NoSQL databases and overall strong knowledge of AWS.

  • Experience in any JavaScript framework such as AngularJS/Angular or VueJS or ReactJS will be highly advantageous

  • Experience in writing object-oriented JavaScript

  • Experience with automation & development tools, and dependency management will be an advantage

  • Understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and exposure to tools like Jenkins or Harness will be an advantage.

  • Experience of Test-Driven Development.

  • Drive continuous improvement, delivering initiatives to improve performance, processes and controls to support applications

  • Distributed computing with experience in cloud computing is a plus (Amazon Web Services platform and associated technologies)

  • Experience with source code management techniques using Git will be an advantage.

  • Should have experience working with team following Agile methodology

  • Strong coding and documentation habits are essential, as is the ability to thoroughly consider and make

  • Thoughtful recommendations on all analysis, design, implementation, and troubleshooting issues.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact in both written and oral English.

  • Proven ability to perform in a demanding environment together with a flexible attitude

Base Salary Compensation Range

$93,978.00 - $159,761.00
