Description
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for successfully developing and managing the maintenance team to maintain productive application of resources, including personnel, equipment and facilities to achieve production goals, quality and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Prepare work schedules, assign work and oversee the work product.
- Mentor, coach and counsel maintenance personnel.
- Observe maintenance technicians daily to ensure that jobs are completed in a timely and safe manner and that all clean up after the job is completed.
- Work with the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Manager to make parts changes as quick and smooth as possible, while prioritizing work as required.
- Negotiate with vendors to get complex and specialty parts fabricated.
- Act as technical resource for Storeroom Technician.
- Maintain the maintenance shop in a clean and functional manner while observing all OSHA and NEC regulations that apply.
- Ensure that all OSHA tag out procedures are strictly followed, while always being on the lookout for safety violations and making appropriate corrections immediately.
- Coordinate available manpower to minimize downtime due to break down or scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Monitor and update all written PMs and communicate to the Production team what PMs/work is being scheduled for the upcoming week.
- Continuously improve professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Working Environment and Conditions
|
This position requires working in an internal and external environment which is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with solid mechanical and industrial skills required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of other software, web-based applications, and Internet search functions preferred. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system a plus.
- Knowledge of machine controls, motion controls and automated process controls and associated equipment such as Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, scales, flow meters, HMIs, and various sensors, actuators, valves and other electrical and hydraulic devices. Ability to program Allen Bradley PLCs and Panel views a plus.
