The team

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions, with a specific focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCE). This role requires expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, automation, databases, and security to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions. The ideal candidate will also have experience integrating cloud modules with SDLC pipelines and ensuring production-grade readiness through documentation and testing.

The role

System Design and Architecture

Develop comprehensive system designs for cloud-based solutions, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance.
Architect and design solutions for GCE infrastructure, identifying dependent components and integration requirements.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure components using best practices.
Create and package custom Windows and Linux images to meet project and operational needs.

Automation and Deployment

Develop and test Terraform modules for automated infrastructure provisioning.
Integrate GCE solutions into SDLC pipelines, ensuring seamless and automated deployments.
Publish deployment artifacts for reliable and repeatable release processes.

Database Design and Management

Work with databases (relational and non-relational) to design and implement scalable data storage solutions.
Optimize database performance and ensure integration with cloud infrastructure.

Security and Compliance

Address security findings, including threat tickets and controls, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Conduct assurance activities for RFIs and RFPs, creating documentation for production readiness.

Documentation and Support

Create detailed documentation for architecture, integrations, deployment, and security processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance and resolve challenges.

What you'll bring
  • Proven 10-15 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on system design and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on expertise in automation tools and practices, especially Terraform.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and their integration into cloud environments.
  • Experience in designing and packaging Windows and Linux images.
  • Solid understanding of security standards, threat modeling, and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with SDLC pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
  • Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $135k-$140k base+ bonus.

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Services bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
