Position Summary:

Manages the development of assigned programs (set of services or group of projects that contribute to Institute strategic goals) as specified in the Institute planning process. Leads multidisciplinary project teams and collaborates with content experts throughout the organization to produce high-quality programs or products. Oversees a wide variety of internal or external resources to manage programs from start to finish on time and within budget. Facilitates all aspects of program or project, including budget and evaluation. Contributes toward the continuous improvement of operations and provision of services. Consults with or serves as mentor for team members in department and those assigned to program or projects that support the program. Manages key internal and external relationships.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Metro Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium (MMCORC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Program Manager to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of cancer research and patient care in our community.

We strive to improve the lives of cancer patients through innovative clinical trials, multidisciplinary collaborations, and evidence-based treatment protocols. Our mission is to accelerate the discovery and delivery of effective cancer treatments while ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

Position Overview:

As the Quality Assurance Program Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our organization's commitment to quality, compliance, and process improvement. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the quality assurance program across our research and clinical operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct annual, or more frequent as necessary, MMCORC site audits.

* Oversee audits for NCI federally sponsored studies (NCI Cooperative Group). Provide direction to all involved team members on audit preparation and timeline.

* Oversee collection of follow-up information for all audits of NCI sponsored studies including preparation of required written audit response and/or corrective action plan. Oversee communication and implementation of correction action plan.

* In collaboration with NCI Program Manager, support adherence to data submission timelines including query resolution for all NCI sponsored studies.

* Provide additional quality assurance oversight to Pharma Program as needed (i.e. FDA audits).

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, establish department policies, and develop SOPs and Work Standards to streamline work processes across all MMCORC research.

* Provide guidance and training to team members on MMCORC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as needed and at regularly scheduled team meetings.

* Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality assurance and quality management systems. Attend appropriate research base meetings as directed and based on available funds.

* Prepare reports and presentations on quality metrics, audit findings, and quality improvement initiatives for management review. Assist MMCORC Director in preparing NCI annual progress reports and re-competing grant applications.

General:

* Actively participates as a member of the MMCORC Leadership Team and Operations Committee and reports regularly on the status of MMCORC QA and related concerns.

* Along with other members of the Leadership Team, supports the Director in regular management and oversight of the program as needed.

* Foster a culture of quality consciousness and patient safety throughout the organization.

This position requires the following experience and special skills in addition to those stated in the Program Manager, PNI job description:

Oncology research experience preferred. Prior nursing experience is strongly encouraged but not required. Strong written, verbal and general interpersonal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail required.

Required Qualifications:



  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
    • Minimum 5 years related experience, preferably in a health-related field.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and budget parameters.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, computers, Internet, printers, telephone, fax, scan and copy machines.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • Master's degree preferred.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form good working relationships with people at all levels.
    • Ability to tailor messages to different audiences and present them clearly and effectively.
    • Displays initiative in identifying problems and outlining solutions.
    • Thinks broadly, identifying and understanding implications to the entire organization.
    • Knowledge of health care is desirable.
