This position has the global responsibility for directing the development of a strategic vision and management for Additives and Solvents both internally (cross-functional teams) and externally (suppliers) based on the high profile & high complexity materials that represent this category. Responsibilities include directing the development & strategic Procurement execution of strategies, monitoring market movements and negotiating both US centric and collaborating on global agreements, working with a broad base of business groups, and resolving issues with suppliers. This position will work directly with senior leadership within procurement and the business units to develop and execute global long-term material strategies in support of Group growth initiatives. The position will strive to independently lead and execute through cross-functional strategic project teams while closely collaborating with the responsible Sr. Director. This category is inherently an extremely complex category due to the # of single sourced SKUs' and significant SKU proliferation across all BUs'. - The NA Procurement activities of Additives and Solvents for all Sherwin-Williams BUs' (PSG, CBG and PCG) in concert with Global Procurement's strategic plan and collaborating across the other regions, aka, EMEAI, LATAM and APAC
- Development and implementation of Regional & Global Category strategies and strategic Procurement alliances resulting in the best value (i.e., total cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability & technical support)
- Developing & implementing policies and procedures which enhance and simplify the managing of the Procurement function at the headquarters, field and global level
- Coordinate the continuous improvement program of Supplier Performance focusing on supply security and limiting SKU proliferation / complexity reduction
- Support Sherwin-Williams Business Unit Clients in the purchases of Additives and Solvents at each of their facilities
- Will need to support at least one of the PCG BUs' as a critical POD representative which will be defined in conjunction with the Sr. Director. In this capacity, should plan to serve as main Procurement contact for designated BU Client, facilitate BU Client/ Global Procurement business strategy alignment, provide Procurement centric information (FIM, market conditions, strategy shifts, etc.) and "Voice of Procurement" into BU Client organization, as well as, advocate for the BU Client into Procurement Department for key projects and initiatives
- This position is responsible for staffing, organizing, and enabling the NA Procurement Additives and Solvents commodity areas and closely aligning with the regional leadership in EMEAI, LATAM and APAC on their procurement strategies as relevant to this category. This position will have direct responsibility to develop, train and motivate senior managers, managers, specialists and analysts who may be part of the team.
POSITION CHALLENGES:

- Minimum of ten (10) years post college experience
- Preferred:
- Specific work experience in the chemicals/coatings space will be a PLUS
- Minimum of ten (10) years successful Procurement (primary) with Marketing, Technical, Operations, Supply Chain, or related experience (secondary) is desirable
- Must be a self-starter with an ability to work with minimal direction/supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Successful track record Procurement high profile, high complexity direct (raw) materials & supplies
- Track record of increasing responsibility with strong performance and focus on cost savings and security of supply
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point and Access.
