Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Managing Director, Corporate Banking to join our team. This position will provide the leadership and expertise necessary to develop, grow, and maintain a Commercial Sales Team focused on executing a sales strategy targeting commercial entities within the assigned range.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage and lead the revenue generation and contribution activities for the assigned group, including development of sales goals, incentive programs, and execution of market coverage objectives.
  • Develop and implement a staffing and talent development plan in alignment with corporate objectives, including recruiting strategies and development plans for all team members.
  • Actively participate in Corporate and Executive Loan Committees, providing direction and advocacy for submissions.
  • Lead the development of the group's strategic and tactical plans and programs.


In order to be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant commercial banking or related experience.


The following would be a plus:



  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA)
  • Credit training
  • Commercial banking experience
