What You'll Do

In this role, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with the expectation to further develop your leadership, guidance, and mentoring skills. With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements. As a Senior JIRA Administrator, you will impact the long-term goals of the program while contributing to the ongoing support of the program's DevOps environment. You will collaborate closely with multiple development teams and play a pivotal role in IT solutions using Atlassian products, focusing on Jira.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for enterprise multi-tenant Atlassian JIRA and JIRA Service Management (formerly JIRA Service Desk) support.
• Design, plan, operate, and maintain a catalog of Atlassian products, including JIRA, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence.
• Ensure the native functionality of the products, plugin integrations, and overall interoperability within the customer's organizational structure.
• Design, build, and maintain complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes with a multi-tenancy focus.
• Integrate the front-end UI with custom internally developed API-based microservices.
• Research and recommend plugins, testing interoperability across multiple development environments.
• Apply a solid understanding of Agile principles (SAFe).
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
• Plan and facilitate requirements gathering workshops to plan Jira workflows and configurations.
• Interpret and translate business requirements into product configurations leveraging Atlassian best practices.
• Configure and administer Jira Software, Jira Core, and Jira Service Management, along with related plugins.
• Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, global settings, users and groups, screens, dashboards, fields, permission schemes, post-functions, etc., as templates for Agile teams and automation workflows.
• Manage and update Atlassian software and licenses.
• Administer application instances daily by setting up and supporting projects, roles, workflows, security, and plug-ins.
• Optimize and improve process workflows, identifying areas where functionality can be enhanced to meet user requirements.
• Maintain a healthy application environment by periodically reviewing and modifying configurations, permissions, workflows, dashboards, integrations, and logs.
• Support front-end UI integrations to external systems by collaborating with developers and stakeholders.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Atlassian tools, application servers, and database servers.
• Maintain associated Confluence public pages for knowledge management, historical system documentation, communication, and wikis.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 7+ years of experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of education).
• Proven experience using/administering Atlassian products (JIRA and Confluence).
• Proven ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in Jira.
• Familiarity with SAFe, Agile, and other JIRA methodologies, advising the customer to adhere to best practices to ensure service quality, uptime, and security.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Atlassian Certified Professional.
• Federal contracting experience.
