Missouri School of Journalism Job Description
Do you want to help prepare bright young people for a future in sports journalism? Join us at the nation's top journalism school, where that happens every day. The Missouri School of Journalism seeks a top-notch editor who has a strong foundation in the fundamentals of sports journalism but isn't stuck in the past. We seek an individual who's ready to be part of an award-winning team focused on creating great journalists and great journalism. Sound like a good fit? Then apply to be the Associate Sports Editor at the Columbia Missourian, the community news outlet operated by the Missouri School of Journalism. You will also be an assistant professor of practice, teaching both in the classroom and the newsroom. You will work with some of the best journalism students in the country. You'll work one-on-one as an editor with these talented soon-to-be-professionals as they cover collegiate, prep and pro sports, and you'll also teach a course every semester. You will have real impact on the development of the next generation of journalists as a mentor and will help shape future beat reporters, feature writers and newsroom leaders. The Missourian newsroom works in text, audio and video, and as a teaching lab we're always ready to try new ideas. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, renewable 12-month faculty appointment.
