Job DescriptionThe Program Maintenance Specialist position is a staff position that will provide support for an instructional program by performing maintenance and repairs, maintaining inventories of program equipment, replacement parts and supplies. The Program Maintenance Specialist works under the direction of the instructional lead or designee.

The Program Maintenance Specialist will provide support for the Electrical Lineworker Technology program by performing maintenance and repairs, maintaining inventories of program equipment, replacement parts and supplies. The Program Maintenance Specialist works under the direction of the Program Team Lead or designee. This position is full time (40 hours) and work is primarily outdoors.

Hiring Range is $ 33,280 to $ 34,564.98

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.

  • This position is vital to our success, especially considering the large numbers of students.

  • Manage the warehousing of multiple pieces of equipment in several different locations on campus.

  • Maintain inventory of all instructional program equipment.

  • This position also operates a skid steer to do dirt work, set and pull poles, build new labs and maintain old ones.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on program equipment by cleaning, adjusting and calibrating on a periodic schedule or as equipment is returned for storage. The ELW has carts, big trucks and multiple types of tools and equipment that require maintenance and repair.

  • The role will be required to build working relationships with multiple local repair businesses, etc.

  • Maintain controlled access rooms for hand tools, instruments, measuring devices and consumable supplies used in instruction and assures the return of these items.

  • Prepare equipment for class, secure equipment after class, set up and dissemble equipment as needed.

  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment and assure security of each.

  • Prepare consumable materials for classroom, laboratory and shop exercises.

  • Assist departmental faculty and staff with other related non-teaching duties in the laboratory or shop as directed.

  • Assist in helping student workers as assigned.

  • Operate motor vehicles for purpose of conducting TSTC business.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to perform vehicle maintenance, for trucks, ATVs, etc.

  • Perform minor or light mechanical repairs.

  • 1+ year experience managing/operating a warehouse.

  • 1+ year experience building relationships and working with suppliers.

Minimum Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in the discipline, preferred.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Accurately maintain records including, but not limited to, inventories of tools, parts, instruments and supplies.
