ServiceNow Developer

The University of Virginia Information Technology Services department is seeking a skilled ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in JavaScript and a strong background in administering and developing on the ServiceNow platform. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT service management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements.
• Create and manage workflows, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs.
• Integrate third party solutions with ServiceNow platform.
• Design scalable and concise coding solutions.
• Test, verify, and promote all ServiceNow enhancements following SDLC best practices.
• Join the on-call rotation, approximately one week per month. Troubleshoot issues and document solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements.
• Participate in agile development processes, providing input and feedback to improve overall team performance.
• Maintain an understanding of ServiceNow platform hierarchies and design principles.
• Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance platform knowledge and skills.

Position Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in JavaScript development.
• ServiceNow Experience: Practical experience administering and developing on the ServiceNow platform.
• ServiceNow Certification: Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA) minimum.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing and developing ServiceNow applications, workflows, scripts, and user interfaces.

• Partnership: Work closely with internal and cross departmental partners to synthesize business requirements into sustainable solutions.
• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and repair complex issues.
• Organizational Skill: Ability to work both on a team and independently while managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced complex environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CSS, HTML, Angular JS.
• Certified ServiceNow App Developer (CAD).
• ITIL foundations.
• Agile development experience.

Additional Information:

• This position qualifies for Full Remote. Occasional paid travel to Virginia one or two times annually.
• The salary for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 annually commensurate with education and experience.
• This is a full-time W2 position.
