Internship projects vary depending on the needs of both the student and the business. Haemonetics interns are assigned to a meaningful project within the company to acquire a variety of experiences, try different skills, and learn what a future career might offer while also contributing to our innovation agenda by completing business-critical projects and assignments. The Research and Development (R&D)Internship will be located onsite 3 days/2 days remote per week in our downtown Boston HQ located at 125 Summer St.

Haemonetics has a broad portfolio of hemostasis management currently in the market and is always looking for innovative medical technology solutions that improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of care. Haemonetics is currently developing new technologies to enable better viscoelastic testing, improve productivity and quality in our customer's centers, and enhance the overall end-user experience. The Haemonetics TEG 6s System is designed for clinicians to assess a patient's hemostasis quickly, giving valuable insight needed to deliver targeted treatment. The TEG 6s is an automated cartridge-based system that utilizes an Analyzer System for measuring viscoelastic properties to provide comprehensive hemostasis analysis. The disposable cartridges run four assays simultaneously through microfluidic technology. This position places strong emphasis on supporting the TEG 6s cartridge, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities, from continuous enhancements to collaborating on the development of next-generation features. In this role, you will work closely with various departments, including hardware, manufacturing, and quality teams. You will have the unique opportunity to acquire a comprehensive skill set in the field of medical device engineering, participating in a diverse array of projects aimed at enhancing TEG consumables and contributing to the innovation and enhancement of the cartridge. The timing is particularly opportune, as our senior Systems engineers have recently introduced multiple prototype cartridge component designs and have devised rigorous testing methods to evaluate their functionality. These innovations are streamlining our progress, ensuring the utmost effectiveness of our endeavors, and enabling us to achieve superior results while introducing exciting new features.

What you Will Do:

This Research and Development (R&D) Intern for TEG will join ongoing efforts to implement TEG 6s sustaining engineering efforts as well as the next innovative solution for the viscoelastic testing market. They will be personally responsible for:

* Test plan development, execution, and documentation to support product updates.

* Participating in root cause analysis efforts and contributing new ideas towards solutions.

* Supporting the research and implementation of improvements to component manufacturability and cost.

Education/Skills:

* Undergraduate or MS program in relevant engineering discipline such as Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering required.

* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Self-directed and able to work without supervision

* Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
