Job Description

We are currently hiring a Sr Brewery Controller in Breinigsville, PA reporting to the Director of Operations Finance.

The Sr Brewery Controller position is accountable for the overall integrity, accuracy and completeness of the Sam Adams Pennsylvania Brewery's (SAPB) financial results and safeguarding of the brewery assets. The Controller is a key member of the Brewery Management team and engages in all aspects of operations to provide timely and comprehensive financial leadership to the Brewery Management team. The Sr Controller is a close business partner to the Brewery Director and, as such, will provide insights and drive better decisions. This role is also responsible for developing and managing direct reports responsible for the day-to-day accounting, reporting and inventory control of the brewery operations. Closely works with the Corporate Finance.

What You'll Brew:



  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop team of 4 accounting and finance professionals.
  • Lead and manage monthly/quarterly closing process.
  • Lead the development of Annual Planning process and cost estimation process with the Brewery Management team to deliver accurate forecasted results and identify risks and opportunities, and set annual standards and production yields for financial reporting and costing analysis.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to Brewery Management with proactive communication of accounting/reporting issues and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance/input to Management on key business decisions that enable effective and efficient operations and delivery of cost savings.
  • Provide guidance to Brewery Management in the origination of capital expenditure requests.
  • Proactively lead and collaborate with the Brewery Management Team to identify and recommend process improvements that will deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks through analyzing financial data to facilitate decision making processes.



What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing operation with emphasis on costing and analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience leading a team required
  • Proven experience leveraging Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience utilizing SAP
  • Proven experience communicating with various audiences
  • Project management experience



Preferred Qualifications:



  • CPA
  • Additional higher learning beyond college including leadership and supervisory training



Level: 5

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $135,000 and $213,200. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for an discretionary annual bonus based on company and induvial performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
