Director of Basketball Overview: As the Director of Basketball you will be joining one of the most innovative sports technology businesses in the world and you will play a vital role as we embark on an ambitious growth journey with the ultimate goal of "Pioneering & Inspiring Change in Sport". Reporting to our MD of North America, your wide-ranging role will see you lead our $7.5M Basketball business globally, and create strategic growth in your sport. With a revenue opportunity of at least $9M in the next year alone, you will drive innovation, profitability, and strategic direction while building strong relationships with stakeholders and enhancing the company's reputation as a leader in the space. Primary Responsibilities: Strategic Growth & Business Planning
Define and lead global Basketball strategy and ensure alignment with company strategy. Co-define overall Hawk-Eye Business strategy Identify, pursue and drive the medium and long term growth across the sport Take full accountability to deliver on the strategy, including annual budget, and where possible, drive to exceed it Fully accountable for the profitability of Basketball including revenue, GP, and OP Analyze operational model for basketball, commercials and profitability of each of the existing contracts and new opportunities Lead the Basketball commercial team for the development of business opportunities across Basketball globally for Hawk-Eye Innovations, and the wider Sony Sports business Collaborate with commercial teams to deliver major pitches in each region using a clearly aligned business case and brand positioning Understand new and existing customers' strategies to develop solutions to meet each sports strategic needs Gain deep competitor understanding and create strategies to build ahead of competitive threats Find new applications for existing technologies across all sports, and potentially other sectors and industries Continual dialogue with the Product team to agree on priorities on the mid and long term product road maps Work with the Innovations Team to seek, build and deliver on new business ideas across all sports and products within Basketball, support innovation and ideation
Business Development
Define and execute the business development strategy for Basketball, aligning it with overall company objectives. Proactively identify new revenue streams, partnerships, and opportunities for growth, in particular, in countries where we have not yet secured business. Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including leagues, teams, governing bodies, and sponsors. Drive the identification and development of strategic partnerships to expand the company's footprint within the Basketball ecosystem. Oversee the preparation and delivery of compelling proposals, pitches, and presentations for potential clients and partners. Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to enhance the company's visibility and positioning in the Basketball domain. Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and threats. Develop pricing and contracting strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability. Ensure a seamless transition of business opportunities from development to operational execution, maintaining client satisfaction throughout the process. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the business and its solutions.
Client Relationships
Manage major client relationships within Basketball Build the reputation of Hawk-Eye, Pulselive and Sony Sports, including digital, production, officiating and other technical solutions for sport Work with Pulselive to develop key client relationships for a digital offering Lead the basketball commercial function to bring all contracts to point of closure Support the brand to be the number one provider in the region to 'all' technology in sport
Leadership
Active participation as a key stakeholder in Hawk-Eye North America Senior Management Team Build successful and productive relationships with teams in the regions, including functions within the UK / HQ Build and lead a high-performing basketball team across all countries we operate, fostering an inspiring and collaborative culture. Continue to build an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture Support team members' professional growth through mentorship, training, and career development opportunities. Operations
Create an environment that enables our people and technologies to succeed, championing the Hawk-Eye Guarantee Work with the SMT to identify and implement the strategic direction of all managed services Continually review the operational model, striking the right balance between efficiency, client satisfaction, operational excellence and profitability Fully understand the contractual agreements and SLAs with clients, and ensure that they are delivered in full Ensure the teams are equipped and capable of delivering on all contractual agreements and expectations from clients Work with the PMO to implement projects, ensuring that new and improved technologies are delivered successfully Ensure resource levels are appropriate for future growth, and utilize the current and regional resource strategically Find new ways of working that give us operational efficiencies, including the use of technology Manage any issues arising from operations and proactively minimize their effect on the client and the team, briefing senior management where appropriate Oversee, and where appropriate lead, the black box process ensuring that findings and reports are shared with internal stakeholders Maintain a solid understanding of the core technology to ensure it's delivered most effectively across the region Work with the product team to identify areas for improvements in the development of the technology, as well as input into ideation sessions Working with the hardware/R&D function to build in operational insights to create the most effective hardware solutions

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $112,000.00to $148,000.00.The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for asales incentive, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
