Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Process Specialist is the primary resource to support service lines and physician practices for all Revenue Cycle activities. Revenue Cycle Activities include Coding issues, Charge issues, and Billing Compliance issues related to any facility service lines or physician practices. The position coordinates with GRC Compliance Department on coding education and works with Coding, Billing, and Denials teams on all edit issues and resolution. The Revenue Cycle Process Specialist is responsible for providing overview of monthly revenue cycle metrics for professional services billed by Baptist Health Care to include Charges, Cash, Adjustments, Payer Mix, Denials, Charge Lag.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with GRC on developing and providing all coding education provided to the practices or providers. Provides education on all CPT and ICD-10CM coding updates and CMS Final rule updates. Provides any payer specific policy updates
  • Works with coding, billing, and denials team on all edit issues and assists with resolution of those edits.
  • Assists with creation of super bill charges and provides compliance reviews of super bills.
  • Provides guidance on charge reconciliation processes to ensure all services provided have been charged correctly
  • Works with credentialing team on any new physician or APP onboarding needs, e.g., physician information or paperwork needed to complete credentialing application process
  • Reviews new services/procedures/tests requested for compliance and assists with initiation and charge set up for new services
  • Coordinates with IT on any identified EMR issues.
  • Provides an overview to Physician Enterprise Leadership team of monthly revenue cycle metrics for professional services billed by Baptist Health Care. Revenue cycle metrics are provided by Patient Financial Services Data Analysts
  • Assists with any other identified Revenue Cycle issues or opportunities


Qualifications

High School Diploma Required

2 years hospital/medical billing, coding, and/or auditing experience required
