Summary
Performs first article inspections including reporting and filing. This person will assist with day-to-day inspection tasks and additional request where necessary. Additional inspection requirements may be added to assist additional departments.

Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to.



  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming purchased products to ensure compliance with drawing requirements.
  • Inspect materials, components, castings, machined parts, cable assy's, etc. to ensure they meet the required specifications and are free from defects.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all inspections conducted.
  • Conduct a thorough inspection of finished products before shipping to ensure they meet the required PO and regulatory requirements and prepare a certificate of compliance for each shipment.
  • Uses basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including microscopes, optical comparator and coordinate measurement equipment to set up and verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance.
  • Uses computer to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records.
  • First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 is a plus but not required.
  • Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Understand and live by Mason's ethics and business conduct policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


  • Two-year technical degree or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience.



Experience & Skills:


  • Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation in accordance with ANSI/Y-14.5.
  • Solid command in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in AS9102 requirement and AS9100 standards.
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Great communication skills especially with production personnel, Engineering personnel (Manufacturing, Design, and Quality).



Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Attention to detail and very organized.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal instruction.
  • In depth knowledge of shop mathematics, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the use over extensive range of complex measuring equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic and advanced inspection measuring equipment.



Physical Demands


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Ability to uphold the stress of working in a busy and demanding office.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.



Compensation Pay Range: $24.00-$31.00 Per Hour.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
