Job Description Bindery Operator II - Overnight (D Shift) Are you an experienced machine operator? OR are you looking for a production position in a clean climate-controlled environment? Walsworth-Eau Claire (formerly known as Documation) is looking for talented individuals like you to join their growing team! ABOUT THE POSITION The schedule for this full-time, overnight shift position is: * Overnight (D) Shift: Thursday - Saturday, 5 PM to 5 AM (12-hour shifts), Sun. if needed. Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with sound attention to detail. As a machine operator, you will read and understand bindery ticket instructions and all forms of written instructions to perform duties that will ensure a quality product produced in a safe and efficient manner. Essential Functions: * Set up, run and maintain assigned machinery * Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule * Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job * Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals * Maintain accurate counts * Move and organize scheduled work for assigned machinery * Assist in training new Bindery employees * Monitor production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Desire to start or continue a career in the printing trade (previous print industry experience NOT required) * Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position. * Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills. * Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed. * Mechanically inclined. * Basic math, ruler and computer skills Working Conditions/Physical Demands: * Required to sit, stand or walk for up to 12 hours a day * Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects to use controls, tools or equipment * May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment * May require specific vision abilities that include close vision * May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time * May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight up to 50 pounds * May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) necessary. * Preference for one year experience in Bindery Operations BENEFITS * 401(k) and employer match - 75% employer match up to 6% of employee contribution * Employer-paid short-term disability insurance * Employer-paid basic life insurance for employee, spouse and child(ren); additional voluntary employee, spouse and dependent life insurance available * Affordable health, vision, and dental insurance plans * Eight paid holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day * Paid Time Off (PTO) - receive 80 hours in your first full year; accrual rate based on years of service ABOUT US Walsworth-Eau Claire (formerly known as Documation LLC) has been producing quality printed solutions in the Chippewa Valley for the past thirty years, serving a nationwide client base specializing in print automation, sophisticated binding solutions, and distribution services for our customer's print programs.
