We are currently hiring a Quality Engineering Manager for our sunny Irvine, California site. A Day in the Life:

As a Quality Engineering Manager, you are responsible for unleashing the full potential of our people and culture while simultaneously achieving timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality medical devices. This position will be responsible for leading and managing the Quality Operations team to ensure the production of high-quality medical devices while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

  • Provide effective leadership and people management to the Quality Operations team of Quality Engineers and Technicians.
  • Ensure consistent, risk-based Quality support to produce high quality and compliant products while still meeting critical business needs.
  • Support robust transition of new products into manufacturing, ensuring strong integration with sustaining operations and the quality management system.
  • Lead site-wide strategies related to nonconformance investigations, CAPA, and validation/verification.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify, investigate, correct, and effectively communicate product performance issues and improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance programs, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards and regulatory guidelines to deliver lasting customer satisfaction.
  • Allocate resources effectively to lead, plan, and execute projects, ensuring successful completion in alignment with business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Work hours: Exempt

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in project management, effective decision-making capabilities, strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Exposure to hands-on troubleshooting of complex electromechanical/optical machines/consoles.
  • Experience working in current ERP systems (i.e. SAP, MES).
