Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines.
  2. Responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of all plant electrical equipment and systems.
  3. Design, install, inspect, and maintain all 480 volt and 120-volt circuitry.
  4. Modify machinery power circuits to make them compatible with facility feed lines
  5. Test, repair, and replace electronic circuitry with facility feed lines
  6. Design, install, and test controls and cable systems
  7. Troubleshoot all electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers, controls, instruments, lights, heaters, etc.
  8. Understand interface between mechanical and electrical controls
  9. Inspect all electrical work to ensure compliance with applicable codes
  10. Work independently in planning, laying out, and performing assigned machine repair work
  11. Ability to complete machine repair assignments and maintain records including but not limited to preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
  2. Knowledge of machine safety and risk assessment
  3. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix processors, safety processors and Integrated Motion
  4. Familiarity with lighting design and control systems
  5. Familiarity with energy management best practices and current standards.
  6. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High-Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
  7. Ability to maintain professionalism and foster rapport with internal and external customers
  8. Ability to assist with training and authorize electrician apprentice hours
  9. Additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:

High School diploma or GED

Journeyman Electrician Certification

Experience:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician

Exposure to industrial equipment electrical systems, including PLC controls and troubleshooting preferred

  2. Basic knowledge and use of hand tools

  4. Good math, reading, writing skills
  5. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  6. Strong trouble shooting skills
  7. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention
  8. Ability to work well in a team environment

1. Basic computer skills

2. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks

3. Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

  • Report directly to Maintenance Manager
  • Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee may be subject to:

  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
  • Exposure to nuisance fumes and dust
  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
  4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
