Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines.
- Responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of all plant electrical equipment and systems.
- Design, install, inspect, and maintain all 480 volt and 120-volt circuitry.
- Modify machinery power circuits to make them compatible with facility feed lines
- Test, repair, and replace electronic circuitry with facility feed lines
- Design, install, and test controls and cable systems
- Troubleshoot all electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers, controls, instruments, lights, heaters, etc.
- Understand interface between mechanical and electrical controls
- Inspect all electrical work to ensure compliance with applicable codes
- Work independently in planning, laying out, and performing assigned machine repair work
- Ability to complete machine repair assignments and maintain records including but not limited to preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc.

- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
- Knowledge of machine safety and risk assessment
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix processors, safety processors and Integrated Motion
- Familiarity with lighting design and control systems
- Familiarity with energy management best practices and current standards.
- Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High-Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and foster rapport with internal and external customers
- Ability to assist with training and authorize electrician apprentice hours
- Additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required: |
High School diploma or GED Journeyman Electrician Certification |
Experience: |
Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician Exposure to industrial equipment electrical systems, including PLC controls and troubleshooting preferred |

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
- Report directly to Maintenance Manager
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee may be subject to:
- High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
- Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
- Exposure to nuisance fumes and dust
- Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
- Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
- Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
