This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface The Lunar Inter-Element Test and Launch Integration Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating across a diverse and passionate team of engineers and technicians in the design of interface testing across multiple vehicles (Elements) within the Blue Lunar Human Landing System (HLS) architecture including launch vehicle and launch site integration of spacecraft. The elements within the HLS architecture includes three Blue Origin Spacecraft Elements, the New Glenn Launch Vehicle, four NASA elements (EVA, Gateway, Orion, and Networks), and both NASA and Blue operations centers. The Director will coordinate and standardize practices within Lunar I&T to integrate our spacecraft payloads with the New Glenn launch vehicle and work with New Glenn for compliance to range and launch site requirements. The tests within this portfolio include, but not limited to, interelement data transfer (mated and RF) for command and control, power transfer, fluids transfer, mechanical and structural loads, launch interfaces testing, and Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, & Docking (RPOD). Most of these tests have technical leads by teams specializing in these areas which the director will provide guidance for interface compliance and maintain insight for milestone performance to plan and reporting to Lunar, New Glenn, and NASA leaders. However, several tests do not have a principle element or IPT with responsibility and the Director will provide direct oversight for planning, development, and execution. With Support from the greater Lunar I&T team, the Director will develop the test plan, resource the infrastructure, and oversee the execution. The Director executes the test events through their extended test team of Lunar, National Team, and Blue support elements, at Blue, NASA, and commercial test sites. Although the interelement tests are distributed, all the launch integration and major assemblies are in the vicinity of Cape Canaveral Florida, which is the primary site for this role. As an exception, we will consider highly qualified candidates in Littleton CO or Renton WA area with a significant increased expectation of travel.
