The HRIS team at Donaldson is hiring a Principal People Analytics Analyst who's ready to help us build a culture where data drives decisions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive HR data and analytics strategy, facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organization, and collaborating with HR & business leaders to transform data into insights and actionable solutions. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring teammates and spreading data knowledge across the organization. This role is based out of our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, MN.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Implement HR data Strategy: Rollout comprehensive HR data strategy roadmap. Drive towards a data-driven culture/mindset across the company.

  • Simplify the Complex: Take complicated people data and analysis and turn it into insights that anyone can understand and act to make better people decisions.

  • Partner with Leaders: Using people data, work side by side with HR and business leaders to tackle people challenges and uncover opportunities communicating in clear, concise, and actionable manner. Build strategies to plan for the workforce of tomorrow using today's data.

  • Shape Talent Strategies: Use people metrics to guide decisions in hiring, employee development, retention, engagement, DE&I, and more.

  • Dive into the Data: Use Workday & other HR data sources to conduct deep dives and spot trends.

  • Create Stunning Visuals: Design dashboards & PowerPoints with BI tools to make data insights tell the story.

  • Mentor & Support: Coach and mentor HR colleagues to help them grow their analytics skills.

  • Data Quality, Governance, Privacy & Security: Ensure robust data governance, including privacy, security, and quality. Collaborate with Donaldson's data teams to comply with regulations, implement security protocols, and improve data quality.

Travel: Up to 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, business administration, statistics, or a related field

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in HR analytics, workforce planning, or a similar field, with proven track record of driving data-driven insights

  • Storytelling/Presentation Ability: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights; telling a story that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Consulting Mindset: Comfortable working with senior leaders and can confidently advise them on data-driven strategies.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in data visualization and data analysis tools (such as but not limited to: Power BI, Oracle BI, Tableau, Workday)

  • Statistical Know-How: Experience running advanced analyses like regression, clustering, or ANOVA and explaining what it means to others.

  • Data Quality, Governance, Privacy & Security: Data privacy/governance and security knowledge around sensitive people data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in a related field like Business Analytics, Data Science, or I/O Psychology.

  • Experience with Workday.

  • Ability to guide and mentor others through strong interpersonal skills; allowing yourself to succeed while pushing others to as well.

Annual Salary Range: $107,900 - 136,050.Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.

This position is eligible for annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth.
