Our Transmission Line Engineering team plays a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing National Grid's electrical transmission systems, transporting high-voltage electricity from generation sources to distribution networks across the Grid. This team is responsible for the design of overhead structures that carry conductors as well as the underground foundations that support each of them. Using tools such as PLS-CADD for 3D modeling and MFAD for foundation design, this team continues to ensure the successful implementation of these types of projects. As a Gridtern, you will contribute to the development of our Feasibility Study Engineering Reports. These high-level scope reports are provided to our customers seeking to interconnect with our transmission line system. In addition, you will visit various construction sites, gain insight into the construction process, and learn the fundamentals of Transmission Line Design. Lastly, you will assist senior engineers with day-to-day tasks to support their greater team objectives. You will be in Syracuse, NY working in a Hybrid structure for the summer.
