A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $43,680 to $60,986. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

Responsibilities

The Insurance Verification Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient billing processes within the patient access healthcare setting. This position is responsible for overseeing the verification of insurance information, resolving any issues that arise, and ensuring that the billing process is efficient and accurate. The supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations within the insurance verification/financial counseling team, providing training and support to ensure that all team members are equipped to manage their responsibilities effectively. This includes developing training materials on insurance verification and batch eligibility, as well as conducting regular team meetings to discuss performance and address any challenges faced by the team. In addition to team management, the Insurance Verification Supervisor will be tasked with verifying insurance eligibility for upcoming patient appointments. This involves utilizing online resources and direct communication with insurance carriers to confirm coverage details. The supervisor will also review patient deductibles and copays, ensuring that this information is accurately recorded and communicated to both patients and staff. Furthermore, the supervisor will coordinate with patients regarding their insurance needs and work closely with billing and credentialing teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise. The role requires a strong understanding of health insurance processes and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The supervisor will be expected to develop solutions for any insurance-related challenges and ensure that all necessary documentation is properly maintained within patient EHR. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of the billing process and supporting the overall mission of the organization to provide high-quality care to patients.



Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. Minimum two years' experience as a supervisor in hospital admissions or billing setting preferred.

3. Well versed in authorization processes for all payers

4. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies

5. Excellent organization and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

6. Ability to learn quickly, work independently and collaborative within a team environment.

7. Ability to maintain good working relationships

8. Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to multitask.

9. Ability to work in a demanding environment

10. Problem solving skills

11. Proficient computer skills
