Onsite - Greenvale, NY *Job Opportunity:* u One of the largest health care networks on Long Island u Great benefits and perks u Staff is team oriented and patient first mentality. u Excellent pay u Overtime available *Qualifications: * * 1 year healthcare experience * Experience with medical documents - EMR system is a plus * Experience speaking with patients and insurance companies * Cardiology exp is a plus *Job Overview: * * Provides secretarial and clinical support to physicians and surgeons in a faculty practice setting. * May schedule appointments for patients. * Take detailed clinical phone messages for physician or advanced allied healthcare provider * Acquire insurance authorizations for procedures and tests ordered by attending physician. * May enter orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepare prescription refill requests on behalf of the physician for the review and approval by the ordering physician. * Maintain logging system as required for tracking test results. * Assist in the maintenance of medical charts and/or electronic medical record * May schedule surgeries/procedures or work in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients; preparing charts,pre-admissions and consent forms as necessary. * repare physicians' mail correspondence. *Work Environment* * Fast -paced cardiology clinic * Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
