S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to manage our advanced analytics function. As a Manager-Advanced Analytics, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Manager - Advanced Analytics oversees the development and application of advanced analytical models to deliver actionable insights across the organization. This role collaborates with data analysts and business units globally to mature the company's unified architecture, support data-driven decision-making, and solve complex business challenges through innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Development: Translate strategic plans into operational goals for the Advanced Analytics team. Oversee the development of operational goals, ensuring alignment with larger company priorities and cross-functional collaboration.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Build and nurture partnerships with data analysts across the company and across all functions. Facilitate the delivery of actionable insights to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Enterprise Training & Education: Prepare training and out reach to the broader functions in proper data handling and management, data governance, and use of standard reporting and analytics tools.
- Data Pipeline Collaboration: Work with the Enterprise Data team to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines. Ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of data used for analytics purposes.
- Advanced Analytics Development: Develop and implement advanced analytical models and techniques to solve complex business problems. Provide strategic recommendations based on deep data insights.
- Data Governance & Security: Enforce compliance with data governance policies and best practices. Maintain high standards of data quality and security throughout the analytics process.
- Innovation in Analytics: Drive innovation by exploring emerging trends and tools in advanced analytics. Introduce scalable solutions that support the company's evolving analytical needs.
- Project Management: Oversee analytics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Manage resources and resolve potential bottlenecks effectively.
- Leadership & People Management: Provide strong leadership and direction to team members, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Conduct regular performance assessments, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate career development opportunities to support individual growth and organizational succession planning.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage the day-to-day impacts of the Advanced Analytics team on the IT budget, ensuring expenses adhere to planned spending and support the achievement of departmental strategies and objectives.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in advanced analytics, data science, or a related role, with at least 2+ years of that experience being in leadership.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R.
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Great leadership skills with an ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results, build the team and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and outcomes, embrace culture and inclusion, and exhibit integrity.
- Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation); able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive decisions and achieve targeted results.
- Ability to use business acumen and analytical skills to analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
- Skilled at navigating through ambiguity and navigating team and stakeholders through change.
- Foundational financial acumen with the ability to provide input to budgetary processes for utmost fiscal effectiveness.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred: * Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar
- Data Analytics Certifications
* Experience in the manufacturing industry or working for a large ($1B+) company. * Knowledge of big data tools like Databricks and cloud platforms.
