Audio Engineer, Cupertino, CA Description: You will be supporting the bring-up of a new acoustic testing lab, collaborating with Product Safety and Acoustics engineers to learn the operation of new lab equipment. Responsibilities will include performing acoustic validation measurements, proctoring subjective study sessions, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and troubleshooting technical issues. Backgrounds in multidisciplinary fields such as consumer electronics, medical devices and audio technology would all be excellent preparation for the highly cross-functional environment. Key Qualifications: * Hands-on experience with audio recording equipment (e.g. microphones, speakers, audio interfaces, amplifiers, electronics) * Ability to work with prototype-level software and hardware setups, debugging basic connection issues with support from Engineers * Familiarity with shell commands on a command-line interface and experience with MacOS / Linux OS required. Matlab / Python skills preferred. * Meticulous in following technical instructions, predefined study protocols, and established participant recruitment processes * Effective organization skills and acute attention to details * Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills * Experience conducting user studies or experiments with human subjects is nice to have * Available to work onsite full-time Education & Experience Most engineers in this department have undergraduate degrees in audio/acoustics engineering, electrical engineering, human factors or an equivalent field, but if you've followed a different path to expertise, we still want to hear from you.
