Job Overview:

Provide Case Management for clients. Conduct indviidual and group counseling with sheltered women and children.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology is required
  • 3 years experience working in the Domestic Violence Field
  • Licensure required LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of Domestic violence
  • Ability to work in an emotionally charged environment
  • Ability to perform duties in an independent manner with little or no supervision
  • Completion of 40 hour Domestic Violence training preferred/must be completed within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

  • N/A

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • Day
  • Full-Time
  • 37.5 Hour Work Week

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to victims with co-occurring cases of Domestic Violence and Child Neglect.
  • Provide on-site consultation to DCP&P local offices
  • Provide direct advocacy and referrals to other social service agencies if needed.
  • Assist in Domestic Violence Safety Planning
  • Provide individual support counselling to assist clients in recognizing their own strengths.
  • Model best practices in working with families in Domestic Violence situations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case files
  • Answer hotline and provide appropriate referrals as needed
  • Serve as a resource to other staff regarding co-occurring cases
  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
  • Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc.
