Summary: As a direct report to the FVP Treasury, the Treasury Analyst will have a variety of responsibilities in the bank's Finance area. This position will be primarily responsible for assisting with the annual operational and capital budget process, as well as assisting with the bank's profitability system, while also supporting the AVP - Treasury with Asset/Liability Management, investment portfolio management and forecasting. This position will utilize the bank's SiSense reporting to perform financial trending analysis for the bank throughout the year as well as utilizing the Banks Investment and ALM software systems. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the financial reporting arm of the Vena Solutions software, including ad-hoc report creation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Assist with the preparation and compilation of the annual bank budget, including providing/processing cost center manager budget reports, uploading budgets into the general ledger and preparing budget reports in Vena or excel.
  • Perform research and analysis for budget to actual variances identified during the year including requests from cost center managers and the AVP Treasury, FVP Treasury, VP Controller and other members of management.
  • Assist with the bank's profitability system including updating the profitability model to accurately reflect the operations of the bank, preparing and distributing profitability reports to Finance management and performance trend analysis on bank profitability for decision making.
  • Ownership of the financial reporting arm of the Vena software used to build the Banks internal financial statements, the operational budget and financial forecasting. Create analytical financial reports for management with information for appropriate decision making to enhance bank performance.
  • Perform back up duties for the Finance Officer on the Bank's in-house asset liability software to evaluate the Bank's IRR and EVE exposures. Work with Finance Officer to complete ALCO reporting package for presentation to the ALCO Committee and pricing Committee.
  • Assist with investment portfolio management including processing of investment transactions in investment software, managing investment trade documentation and production of investment reporting. Also perform due diligence on the Bank's Subordinated debt and Corporate bond purchases for presentation to the Finance Officer and FVP - Finance.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from Finance management
  • Complete all yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, Federal and State
  • Regulations. Adheres to departmental and bank wide service standard.
  • Assist the AVP Treasury in uploading FHLB collateral reports to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Generally, requires a four-year degree in finance or accounting and two-five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills needed:

  • Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures, with ability to train others in related practices and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Certifications, Licenses and/or registrations: N/A

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Oracle GL, Oracle Business Intelligence, Vena solutions and COCC Insight. General knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Access and Powerpoint.
