SUMMARY

The Managed Care Solutions (MCS) Service Manager performs professional work under the supervision of the MCS Deputy Administrator. Responsibilities include participation in the HealthChoices or managed care programmatic and quality initiatives from the State or County and subsequent planning, implementation and management activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* In collaboration with the MCS team, participate in developing and operationalizing the project plan for each initiative.
* Management and participation in project plan to assure project remains on task. Assists with contracting, reinvestment planning and development of RFP's aligning with project plans. Provides regular updates on the progress, identify barriers and monitors achievement of designated plan.
* Create reporting system for monitoring project plans to ensure benchmark completion and successful achievement of metrics.
* Participate in development of joint program and quality projects, such as MCO Performance Incentives, HHS interoffice planning/reports, Community Based Care Management and integrated health/SDoH initiatives.
* Connect to community-based recovery supports in collaboration with the Office of Drug and Alcohol.
* Develop a working knowledge of regulations applying to both Dept of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and OMHSAS expectations.
* Research trends and promising practices related to initiatives and interventions across both mental health and drug and alcohol systems.
* Contribute ideas and practices that promote health equity within initiatives.
* Ensure that MCS maintains proactive communication with county partner offices, providers. MCO and other key stakeholders.
* Involve members in service, family members and youth in each aspect of special initiatives.
* Participate and collaborate in routine analysis of data to identify trends impacting quality of care and safety within the MH and D&A networks.
* Collaborate with Magellan, MCS quality/performance management and MCS finance across all activities.
* Active participation in workgroups and other key county activities.
* Assist in addressing any special requests by state and/or county.
* Self-enrichment on current behavioral health services; evidence based practices; and data analysis.
* Other duties as delegated.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health related studies, Masters preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Behavioral Health.
* Managed Care knowledge is preferred.
* Experience in project management, data analysis, and problem resolution.
* Knowledge of the structure, organization and methods of public and private mental health agencies and institutions.
* Ability to utilize commonly used business tools such as MS Office products.
