About the Job:
In this role, you will design, implement, and support systems used to run logistics operations and optimize the supply chain. Our solutions encompass a wide range of technologies, including cloud software, on-machine telematics hardware, consumable data analytics, AI models, and emerging technologies. You will support multiple business lines, including scheduling and dispatching for various transport modes such as ships, barges, rail, and trucks, serving our aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt business lines.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals with experience in the logistics and supply chain domain. Key skills include customer service, planning, and Jira board review and testing. We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience who are passionate about data-driven decision-making and process optimization. Please note that this role may require travel across the Vulcan footprint.

What You'll Do:

1. Provide dispatching and scheduling support to VMC Operations' end users

• Provide support for Ready Mix sales and dispatching systems.
• Become subject matter expert of Where's My Concrete dispatch application.

2. Formulate Business Process Optimization

• Identify opportunities for improvement in logistics processes.
• Propose and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

3. Provide telematics collaboration with and support to the IT Operations and Engineering team

• Implement and support telematics solutions for tracking and managing transportation assets.
• Optimize fleet management through telematics data analysis.

4. Perform Inventory Management functional and technical analysis

• Assist business in identifying processes and solutions to manage inventory levels effectively.
• Implement control measures to prevent shortages and excess inventory.

5. Manage, develop and author necessary documentation and document repository

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of processes and procedures.

6. Provide Customer Service and willingness to travel

• Provide excellent customer service and support.
• Be willing to travel as needed for the job.

7. Provide QA testing, technical support, training, and documentation of various Ready-mix Concrete IT Solutions

Skills You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or 5 years of industry experience.
  
• Proficiency in data analysis tools is helpful (e.g., Excel, SQL).
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  
• 5-10 years of experience preferred, with opportunities for candidates at all levels.
  
• Data analysis and interpretation.
  
• Process optimization.
  
• Inventory management.
  
• Cost analysis and financial acumen.
  
• Dispatching and scheduling support, knowledge of WMC (preferred).
  
• Telematics implementation and support.
  
• Experience in the building materials industry (preferred).
  
• Excellent customer service skills.
  
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  
• Willingness to travel as needed.
  
• Good documentation skills.
