DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Electrical Engineer 2, you will provide professional electrical engineering expertise and support to Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission infrastructure projects and repairs. Work is varied and diverse within the electrical engineering discipline and carries the satisfaction of seeing projects through from start to finish. Employees in this position are responsible for the design, or review of designs, of complete electrical engineering projects or for the conduct of a segment of an engineering research project. Work may involve designing or reviewing the design of projects such as a complete electrical distribution system, lighting systems, or the conversion of a facility to a total electric utility base.

Employees work with considerable independence in developing the technical details of the project but must adhere to project priorities and scheduled deadlines. Work requires contact with public agencies, consultants or contractors to obtain compliance with Commonwealth standards and objectives. Employees may be required to take professional responsibility for their own work products. Supervision is received from a project coordinator or supervisory engineer who assigns work in project form and reviews completed work for engineering soundness, attainment of project goals, and cost effectiveness.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bellefonte.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Electrical Engineer 1; or
  • Two years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system; and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; or
  • Two years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
