Job Summary: The Business Systems Analyst I documents, installs, analyzes, and/or maintains operating system(s) used for the business purpose of assigned area. Provides technical support and training to users concerning system software and utilities. Serves as subject matter expert for system. Serves as liaison to the central Office of Information Technology (OIT) for advanced support needs. Additional Department Summary: Develops, tests, and maintains low-code software solutions to modernize and streamline business processes for the department's four distinct functional areas. Utilizes SQL and other data querying tools in conjunction with Business Intelligence software (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform) to draw operationally-critical insights and provide easy-to-digest dashboard and reporting solutions for departmental and divisional leadership. Provides additional technical support for HRC's primary housing software system, including, but not limited to, the creation and maintenance of custom automated processes, troubleshooting user issues as it relates to business operations, developing custom SQL queries for advanced data requirements, and monitoring third-party integrations (e.g. DocuSign). Serves as a liaison between HRC and the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Provides technical training and guidance to HRC functional staff. Offers leadership and direction in business process analysis and improvement. Researches and recommends new software where appropriate and necessary to support and enhance business operations. Reviews, analyzes, and addresses problems that can have a financial and service impact on HRC business operations. Completes required training and promotes a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with users of varying degrees of technical ability and comprehension. Strong time management skills and comfort with working on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and Excel. Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and the importance of system development, testing, and production environments. Knowledge of web development, scripting, UI/UX design, relational databases, data visualization, or data analysis is a plus. Strong interest in and comfort with continuously learning and implementing new technologies. Ability to interpret, communicate, and utilize university policies and procedures in analysis and reporting. Self-starter with analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to technically problem solve. Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students. Preferred Qualifications: Degree or minor in Management Information Systems or related discipline. Microsoft Power Platform Certifications (e.g. PL-900, PL-200, PL-600) and/or demonstrated knowledge. Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL. One (1) year of experience with business application and/or process development, including experience using no-code or low-code tools. Experience with low-code/no-code software development tools, preferably tools within the Microsoft Power Platform (i.e. Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate). Experience with SQL or other reporting tools and Business Intelligence software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau). Working knowledge of DocuSign, digital signature program.
