The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluation and treatment of orbital surgery and oculoplastics. They will be required to prepare and present at teaching conferences, participate in the teaching of residents and/or medical students, and will be involved in the ongoing research activities of the department. In addition to clinical practice and research and teaching activities, candidates will be required to participate in advanced training related to orbital surgery and oculoplastics, and will result in ASOPRS certification. Qualifications
Minimum requirements include D.O. or successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program, M.D., eligibility for licensure/certification in the state of Minnesota or D.O. About the Department
Within the broad mission of the Medical School, the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neuroscience conducts high quality programs of biomedical research and education. It provides services in all ophthalmologic subspecialty areas (retina, anterior segment, pediatrics, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, orbital surgery and oculoplastics) for the medical/ophthalmology community, and is the educator and supplier of ophthalmologists and subspecialists to the five state areas and beyond. Annual Pay: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is based upon academic effort, and begins at $44,156. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total annual salary will be $82,649.
