Georgia-Pacific's Gypsum facility in Savannah, GA is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Plant Electrician. This highly skilled position will support our operations by focusing on electrical construction projects and ensuring that all installations are performed to code and safety standards. Shift: Primarily Monday-Friday day shift, with occasional 12-hour rotations on days and nights, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed at leadership's discretion. This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus! Our Team The Georgia-Pacific facility in Savannah, GA produces a variety of gypsum wallboard products. What You Will Do * Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program. * Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. * Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant codes and standards. * Performing electrical construction tasks such as conduit bending, cable pulling, and gland installations. * Coordinating with contractors and other trades to complete electrical installations. * Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications. * Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. * Documenting work performed and maintaining electrical records for compliance and safety audits. * Perform expediting duties during MRF events (parts and materials gathering). * Make parts runs as necessary (machine shop, MRO supplier, fasteners, etc.) * Provide back-up coverage to the Stores Lead as needed. * Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment. * Must to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Two (2) years or more of experience in industrial electrical construction, installation, and maintenance. * Experience with electrical wiring methods and components such as EMT, Rigid, MC Cable, and PVC conduit. * Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes. * Experience in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and technical diagrams. What Will Put You Ahead * Four (4) years or more of electrical construction experience in an industrial environment. * Experience with medium voltage systems, transformers, and switchgear. * Certification as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent. * Experience in managing electrical projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
