As a Sr. Associate, Health, Safety, and Environment Management supporting MTO and R&D you will be trusted to ensure that site HSE programs are compliant with regulatory and corporate requirements, and to provide guidance to the Alcon Irvine Technology Center (ITC), located on Alton Parkway.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
• Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
• Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence
• Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety
• Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illnesses, and near misses to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies
• Collecting and analyzing health, safety, and environmental data for our data management system and site objective tracking

Other responsibilities include:

• Leading site HSE committee meetings
• Assisting with implementation of HSE programs, systems, processes and training as required by Alcon Global HSE and regulatory agencies.
• Supporting HSE audits and inspections.
• Completing HSE risk assessments and required HSE reporting.
• Developing, creating, and conducting HSE related training.
  

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
