Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a self-motivated individual with a passion for higher education and philanthropy? Then we invite you to apply for this exciting Summer Development Internship at the University of Connecticut Foundation!

The Summer Development Internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain exposure in the field of advancement within higher education. You will develop skills in research, communication, fundraising, event coordination and more.

Interns will work closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative, hands-on, and supportive environment. The experience gained will contribute to your personal and professional development, preparing you for potential future roles in nonprofit and higher education advancement.

Leadership

Provide visible leadership across the entire organization by engaging in organization-wide activities such as department meetings, all-staff meetings, and staff events.

Key Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including ability to effectively communicate University priorities to donors and prospects, and to positively represent the University and Foundation.
  • Familiar with the use of computers and information management tools.
  • Ability to engender trust and confidence of donors and prospective donors and to maintain confidentiality of donor information; ability to represent the UConn Foundation to prospects, donors, faculty, administrators, and others.
  • Ability to work a Hybrid Schedule during the Summer.


Education & Experience



  • Must be enrolled with the University of Connecticut and be in good standing related to grade point average and student code of conduct.
